Are You Trying to Lose Weight In College?

Are You Trying to Lose Weight In College?

Trying to lose weight in college does not have to take a lot of your precious time away. In fact you can build a slimmer and sexier body in under 4 hours per week. How? By using the right exercises that burn fat quickly and efficiently. You may have come across the latest fat loss tips promising you to burn fat overnight with their “special exercises” or those ab machines promoted on late night infomercials.

The truth is many of these techniques to burn fat quickly are just plain hype. The best exercises in my opinion for burning fat quickly are time-tested strength training and fat loss exercises such as deadlifts and High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). Other helpful tips to burn fat quickly include:

Writing Up A Weight Loss Plan

When it comes to losing weight in college, time is the most precious commodity around. A lot of your precious time is taken away by lengthy lectures, classes, exams, hanging out with friends and so on. With a lack of time you need to make sure that when it comes to losing weight you use the most effective exercises and consume the right foods. These can all be combined in a detailed weight loss plan thereby making it easier for you to keep track on what exactly needs to be done. Having a weight loss plan is crucial to your success in losing weight, after all as the saying goes “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail” and this is most evident in losing weight.

Using The Right Exercises

With the lack of time in college, using the right exercises is paramount to losing weight. Many people complain they can’t exercise for long as a result of their busy schedule and thereby give up altogether. This problem can be overcome by using the most effective exercises for burning fat. The most effective cardiovascular exercise in my opinion is High Intensity Interval Training or HIIT.

HIIT is considered superior to traditional cardiovascular exercise in that it cycles between moderate intensity and high intensity exercises for a number of sets thereby elevating your metabolism allowing you to burn fat for an entire 24 hour period after you workout. Traditional cardiovascular exercise on the other hand burns fat only within your workout. Another benefit to using HIIT is that it can be done in under half the time of traditional cardiovascular exercise, in other words it can be done in 30 minutes or less.

Another aspect to losing weight is to build muscle tissue. Your primary goal may not be to pose on stage in a bodybuilding show however building muscle is just as important as burning fat. The most effective muscle building exercises involve moving your whole body through space as opposed to moving only one part of your body such as your arms. Moving your whole body recruits many muscle groups thereby releasing a greater amount of muscle building hormones such as IGF-1 (Insulin Like Growth Factor-1), HGH (Human Growth Hormone) and Testosterone.

Consuming A Variety Of Foods

Many people who go on a weight loss program often find that adhering to a strict diet is the hardest part. The main reason for this is that you’re restricted with the choice of foods. For example, many people eliminate dairy products believing that they’ll lose weight quicker. However research has shown that consuming dairy products actually accelerates your weight loss. By consuming a variety of foods not only will you feel more satisfied you’ll also receive more nutrients to your body.

To adhere to your diet you should choose a whole variety of foods and not restrict your choice of foods excessively. Foods you should be consuming include wholegrain bread, brown rice, wholegrain pasta, lean meats such as skinless chicken breast, turkey, salmon, beef, whole eggs, milk, cheese as well as fruits and vegetables.

By following these tips mentioned above not only will you have a healthier body you’ll also be fast tracking your weight loss. So get going and lose weight today for a slimmer, sexier you!
